Use the Add Risk Assessment option in the Activities Menu to display a list of available Templates (the list is set up as part of the initial configuration of the system).
For example:
• Environment – Standard.
• Environment – Express.
• Environment – Multi-Aspect.
• Health & Safety - Chemical Assessment.
• Health & Safety – Express.
• Health & Safety - Pre & Post Natal.
• Health & Safety – Standard.
• Health & Safety - Multi Hazard (Job Safety Analysis).
• Health & Safety – VDU (Visual Display Ergonomics).
The Express and Multi-Hazard or
Multi-Aspect templates follow the typical 3x3 or 5x5 consequence/probability
matrix whereas the Pre & Post Natal and VDU Ergonomics templates use
more of a checklist approach.
The “Standard” templates use the
FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) methodology. FMEA was
originally developed in the 1950s as a tool to identify potential reliability
issues at the design stage in the aerospace and motor car industry, notably the
Ford Motor Company. It is widely used in quality systems.
The Chemical Assessment uses an approach similar to the UK’s Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) requirements, incorporating the Globally Harmonised System for classification, packaging & labelling.
